Don't Tell The Bride...
The series follows six couples in the lead up to their wedding and documents the choosing and booking of the venue, decisions about colour schemes and floral displays, organising guest lists and invitation designs and of course choosing and fitting THE DRESS. These are decisions that most women have prepared for with relish for most of their lives and decisions that most men have barely given a second thought to. until now! Because, as the title suggests, our brides will be handing over the reins of their precious day to the only thing more precious to them - their Groom. The Groom will make all of the decisions and the Bride will have no further input until the day before her wedding day, when she will see her wedding dress for the very first time.
Does he wish he had listened when she went on and on about her 'perfect' dress? Should he have paid more attention to the post-it's stuck on wedding magazine pages? Or has he produced something beyond her wildest dreams?
We have made six episodes for the first series already and with the second series in the early stages of production we are keen to find some brides-to-be from Devon and Cornwall interested or ' brave enough ' to hand over the reigns to their H2b.
The programme works best when our bride has a very definite idea about the type of wedding she wants and ideally she will have done lots of research herself (scrapbooks, wedding chat room members etc). As an example, Katy, (our bride from show one of the first series) sent in this as her initial application to the series:
".my dreams are of a baroque style stately home ceremony, drinks and nibbles with games on the landscaped lawn afterwards, an old fashioned bus covered in ribbons and flowers (full of guests drinking min bottles of Pink Champagne through straws) to take us to a separate evening venue for a 3-course meal and a ball in 50's Hollywood glamour-style"
Her groom, Sam, described his perfect day as:
".I hate discos so would like a live band, in the day a bar-bq in a field with quite a few people there. She will wear a white dress, they always look a bit uncomfortable so a comfortable big white dress" (sic)
