Beauty Tips For The Beautiful Bride... |
It's not just on your special day that you must pamper yourself. Think about the final look you want to achieve and start working on it weeks before the wedding. |

A bride must glow, so your skin is the first place to care for. Use a 3 step skin care regime for best results. Start with a high quality cleanser. If you have worn make-up prior to cleansing, always use remover first. Your skin can be cleansed with a liquid cleanser, soap or face wipes. Follow the instructions closely on whatever product you choose, taking special care to reach all areas of your face and neck. |
If using a cleanser, use a 5p-sized amount and apply it using circular motions. Then rinse with warm water and take a soft towel to pat your skin dry. Next you must tone. Pick a toner that matches your skin type. Finally, apply your moisturiser. Follow this regime first thing in the morning and last thing at night. It may take a month to see results, so don't give up after a week.
There isn't a person alive who doesn't look better with a bit of a tan. Sunbeds are an option, but you'll need more than one session for a decent colour, and it's not good for you. A spray tan is safer and only one is necessary. You can do it yourself at home, but it's safer to get the professionals to do it and guarantee a streak-free finish. Don't go crazy though, an orange bride is not a good look!
If you think you could grow your nails naturally for the big day, make sure you see a manicurist at least once before the big day. If not, good false nails are readily available and very convincing. Go for subtle though, 3-inch red talons won't complement your dress. It is important to moisturise your hands daily too, it is all too easy to neglect them. |

Naturally, you'll want your body to look its best. The classic option is to join a gym to tone up everything. Do this at least 3 months before the wedding and don't give up, you'll look and feel better for it. There are cheat methods obviously, with various wrap treatments available that can temporarily take a few inches off your problem areas, but nothing beats good old fashioned exercise. |
Finally, your wedding make-up must be addressed. If you are brave then you can do it yourself, if not there are many wedding make-up services. Some will also do your bridesmaids and mother of the bride. It is important to speak to whoever is doing your make-up and not let them talk you into being made-up in a style you aren't happy with. Most bridal make-up services will meet with you first and do a test session for you to be at ease. If you are going the DIY route with your make-up, subtlety is the key. Unless you've chosen a gothic-theme, don't use to much eye-liner and stick to neutral shades. And ladies, if you are worried about getting a bit emotional at the altar, use 2 coats of waterproof mascara to avoid panda eyes. |
