Ideas For The Hen Night

Your hen night should be fun, exciting and a great bonding session with your nearest girly mates. Whether you choose a traditional big night out with L-plates and a veil, or a quiet meal with friends, it will be the perfect way to mark the end of your single life and the beginning of married life.

If you organise the hen night yourself you get to do exactly what you want, but some couples find it fun to let their other half organise their stag/hen do. You could also get your friends to organise your big night which can make for some fun surprises.

There are limitless options available to you for hen night/day/weekend. If a big drunken night out isn't for you then why not go for a sumptuous meal at your favourite restaurant. You and your friends could give speeches. If you fancy something raucous but still don't fancy a night on the tiles, go for an outdoor adventure day. Assault courses, zip-lines and canoeing will have you and your friends roaring with laughter. Even more adventurous girls might want to take a camping trip to somewhere like the Lake District. There are plenty of walking holiday packages available and you can easily buy one with a guide, then in the evening you can sit round the campfire and drink to a long and happy marriage.

A popular choice for brides-to-be and grooms-to-be alike is wine-tasting. Wine-tasting sessions cost around £20 per head so are affordable and suitable for just about everyone. Feeling saucy? How about a pole-dancing lesson for you and your girls. Polestars offer a pole-dancing party especially for hen parties which costs £285 for 20 people or less. Bring out your naughty side and organise for you and your hens to tour a local fire station. It can't be guaranteed that any of the firemen will strip for you but you girls can always dream.

A more relaxing option for a bride-to-be is to go to a health spa with her nearest and dearest girly pals. If you spend a long weekend having treatments or just a couple of hours having your nails done, you're bound to end up feeling refreshed, invigorated and ready for the happiest day of your life.

Some girls like to combine their hen night with their partner's stag night. Maybe you could all go out as 2 groups in fancy dress. Grease is a popular choice: you and your fiancee can be Danny and Sandy and your guests can be the T-Birds and Pink Ladies. You could all go out for a meal at separate restaurants then meet up later at a bar or someone's house to continue the festivities together.

Whatever you decide on for your last night of freedom, make sure you take a camera so you can look back on your hen night for years to come. You can add them to your wedding album and compare them with your new husband's stag pictures.
