Real Wedding - Anna and Paul

We’ve become regular photographers at Polhawn Fort in South East Cornwall. This was the first time however that I’ve photographed the bridal preparation off site. And its always a pleasure to photograph a classic beauty like Anna.

Anna and the girls had been staying in Kingsand, a few miles from the wedding venue. They spent a casual morning eating toast, drinking champers and being pampered by Bells Brides before heading off to the ceremony in a stylish VW campervan (www.vwlovebus.com). This classic vintage look dress is a Pronovias (Menora), bought from Silhouettes in Richmond (along with Veil). Shoes by Emmy in London.

By the afternoon the rain had really set in but we still managed to persuade a few people to head onto the lawns for a few photos. The bridesmaids are wearing Dessy, purchased from The White Room in Southwell, Notts.

Anna, Paul and I ventured out in the rain for our photo shoot – the weather was pretty foul to say the least. I am always up for photographing in the rain with umbrellas as the shots can be fun and very atmospheric – luckily I was in the company of an adventurous couple who are just about to head off around the world so a little bit of rain didn’t put them off! We were however, all glad for the hired campervan which served as a perfect (and dry!), venue for more photos once we’d had enough of the rain.

We arrived back in time for a lovely meal provided by The English Table and some very entertaining and heartfelt speeches in the ever cosy atmosphere of Polhawn Fort. We were blessed with a little respite from the rain in the evening which gave us a chance to spend some time on the lawn before we headed home. The party was in full swing led by DJ Geoff Gibson (also an Usher on the day!).

We’d like to wish Anna and Paul all the very best for a long and happy marriage. We really enjoyed spending the day with such a warm and welcoming group of people (and REALLY enjoyed that bottle of Oyster Bay – thanks Colin!!!).
