Real Wedding - Sarah & Duncan

We met in Truro on a night out, Duncan was a little tipsy and after talking for an hour he asked if he could buy me a drink, I said "no" a few times then said, "oh go on anything other than sambuka!!" So he went to the bar and ordered 2 sambukas!!!

He asked for my number, but I said no so he gave me his. Then during the night we moved about and that was the last we saw of each other.

A few days passed and I texted him to thank him for the lovely hangover. It went from there. I found out that he woke the following morning and told his friend he had met the woman he could spend the rest of his life with, but couldn't even remember my name, only that i worked with Dr's. Luckily for him i texted a few days later.

The proposal was another of Duncan's finest moments...

He arranged to take me to see River Dance in Plymouth as I love Irish Dancing, he had arranged to have a single red rose tied to our chairs that were 2nd from the front with a card that read, Will you Marry me.

We took our seats and I found the lovely flower and proposal, I said yes and as Duncan went to hug me, he accidentally elbowed me in the mouth and drew blood from my lip.

The following morning I had a black split lip and it's been the but of jokes!!

We were very lucky to have 2 Stag and Hen parties. I had a fantastic one in Sitges, Barcelona and Truro and Duncan had one in Krakow and Falmouth. My Hens all were to represent a country and we all went as a Miss World, me being Miss World, the photo's are fantastic of the outfits we had for the main night out and it was an amazing time in a private villa on a hill side with pool. The home leg hen do was in Truro and was the theme green.
Duncan went to Krakow with a large group of lads and did the Auschwitz concentration camp, he also went to Falmouth and was dressed as a old lady for the evening.

The theme of the wedding was pink and silver with a hint of the Irish proposal. We had a Violinist playing the wedding ceremony music, which was all Irish music.

I wore a pale pink dress with my 3 daughters Maisy 7, Isobel 5 and Freya now 10 months. My best friend and chief bridesmaid wore silver with the suits also being grey and silver and the groom having a matching pink waistcoat.

We married at the Rose in Vale Hotel, Mithian in the garden in in the summer house, and the reception was in the grounds of the hotel in a Marquee. We married on the day before the World Cup final so our table numbers were years of the World Cup with facts on and guests were given betting slips for the final the next day as favours.
For the personal touch I ordered white umbrellas with our name and wedding date printed on them with getting married outside. I did all the printing of order of service menus, and hand printed the place names on little butterflies that rested on the wine glasses.
We ordered a creche so the children for the day were looked after, from the speeches through to 10pm, in a special private section of the marquee just for them, it gave parents the chance to relax at the wedding because the children were happy and looked after. The children also got goodie bags with colouring pads and pens and little bead making kits or gliders for the boys. I bought pots of plants for decorating outside and around the marquee to keep it natural with the grounds and being married in a garden.

The honeymoon was 3 days at the 5 star Cameron House, Loch Lomond, Scotland and was amazing. We then came home on the Friday and took the kids to Disney Land in America for 2 weeks on the Saturday.
